It hasn’t even been that long since this man dropped his latest album and we are already back with a brand new single that actually comes in 3 different forms with an original and two remixes but I’ll be focused on the standard edition that has a list of familiar artists that seem to follow Pab across his career this far! So let’s talk about it! This is the brand new single by MC -Pab Montega with Production from -Sinamatik and features from -Mr. Ripley -DJ City Rich on the cuts and scratches! Now discussing the MC side of things first (and I’ll mention similar qualities regarding the beat later) but what I appreciate about Pab’s (and Ripley’s) performances on this single are the fact that they are keeping things simple, direct and solid! They both know what they excel in and what they are good at and they don’t attempt to disrupt the parade on any experimental shit just pure, honest hip hop in it’s most organic form and it’s a fucking beauty to hear! Both these men giving a verse a piece showcasing what I’ve heard over the past few months which is a strong sense of passion and experience! A stand alone cadence and style that is exclusive to them and dope application of things such as rhyme schemes, clever wordplay, smooth flow and more. It’s in these factors that make this track itself such a compelling piece of music because we get to hear them take it back to the traditional hip hop roots of just strong lyricism and charisma and you get both in spades on this single! As far as the production goes, the instrumental itself also lends its hand at returning to a more ‘90’s nostalgic feel and rhythm that I guarantee everyone will be rocking! So on this track we hear at the start these swaying keys in a three pattern loop that sets up the track for its skeletal and raw main body that consists of heavy drums, thick and infectious bass that all comes together with some further added plucked strings and a string of adlibs thrown in to create a stronger atmosphere to the song! DJ CityRich does a fantastic job at maintaining that old school feel with those well placed scratches that provide a deep texture to the track that I loved and in my opinion added a ton more replay value to the song! All in all this is a fantastic single. It sticks to perfecting the basics while paying homage to the ones who started this shit. Great feature chemistry and production! Definitely worth checking out!
