I think you’d be crazy not to mention this man in your most consistent. I haven’t heard an average drop from him yet and this album further proves his worth, legacy and longevity in this culture. With that in mind and with a brand new producer by his side it’s time to discuss this new project by your one and only GAWD! This is the brand new album by MC -Ferris Blusa and Producer -MadScience Beats and together they drop this sharp 8 track experience with the likes of -Mondo Slade -Miles Anthony -Beedie -Andre De Saint -Mindz Malverde And alongside these names we have this album that I can only describe as ‘atmospheric’ in every way from the wordplay to the beats. This one feels like a hip hop Buddhist Temple one that you enter and have the spiritual connection hit you right in the face that you couldn’t possibly ignore! If we start with the production aspect we hear about an artist who uses his talents on the beats to create this powerful and immensely deep feel that goes through your mind and body like sonic chakra points being hit! I mean this feels less like an album and more like a musical meditation process! You’ve got tracks like -Hans Landa which has those deep horns at the start combined with those intricate piano keys and thudding drums that is later joined by this tribal chant vocals that give all the texture in the world to this track! Making you feel like they hired a real monk into the studio to record those vocals! The definition of immersive! We’ve also got tracks like -Prestige Wordwide as it starts off with that sample from the film -Step Brothers it later evolves into this vibrant instrumental that is combined with this sombre vocal melody that runs throughout the entire track, thick bass strings and some methodically charged drums that help provide this track with enough force to etch this song into your brain! I quite enjoyed the sounds of -Reagan Era this one had a different tone then the others. You’ve got those sci fi style synth chords that come in and out throughout the track that’s accompanied by some sharp keys in the background and some more surreal drums that provide an extra boost of tension to this track that makes it that much more memorable! As far as the lyrical side of things Ferris hasn’t sounded better. I feel with each new release he sounds more cinematic and theatrical in the way he speaks, rape and delivers. It’s in this performance style that makes him such a memorable man in the game and why each of his drops feel special and ‘must listen’ and that feeling is 10x fold on this one! On this record we hear Ferris delivery his heaviest lines yet. His surreal voice, the way he tells his stories like a true author forcing the audience to hang on each and every word. The way he can tell his mini stories in his trademark suspenseful and engaging manner which uses the approach of ‘patience’ to keep us all on the edge of our seats. He’s never rushing, never out to do any crazy shit just his masterful pen and voice which is all he’s ever needed over some powerful production and you have a recipe that can’t fail! Across this tape we hear him lock arms with some of the dopest in our industry! Not one to always have features but when he does he only handpicks the best. If I had to play devils advocate on this album and choose my favourite feature it would have to be Mondo Slade on the track -Prestige Worldwide! I’ve been fucking with Slade for years now and he’s never let me down! All in all another mind blowing and brilliant release by Ferris. I will stand by him and say his discography when it’s all said and done will stand the test of time! Also MadScience knocked it out the park with his contributions as well!
