It should be mandatory that everyone listen to this one before the year is over, holy shit. I wasn’t expecting it to be this level of flames. I know both MC and producer go hard, but this is volcano lava! I gotta talk about it! This is the brand-new single by MC Rome Streetz and producer Denny LaFlare! And together they drop this massive 3 minutes and 11 seconds that exceeds all expectations! And here’s why! Firstly, I want to discuss Rome. He’s never been one to miss the mark before, but for some reason, on this track, he sounds like the rent is due, he’s hungry, and these verses are all that will save him from the streets and starvation! He sounds the most deadly, crisp, ferocious, and powerful that I’ve ever heard him! He doesn’t waste a single second of this 3 minutes without making sure he drops an atom bomb full of clever puns, superior hood poetry, terrific phrases, and a flow that doesn’t quit. He’s on his magnum opus, shit that will force the listener to sit there and bop your head until you get a fucking headache! He’s bringing his iconic high-tone vocals that are used to unleash his ridiculous penmanship, an unmatched rhythm, and a swagger that has led him to be featured on albums with the best of the best, and he shows no signs of slowing down! But I ain’t fronting when I say he hasn’t sounded this dominant in a really long time (and that’s saying a lot!) the definition of a S+Tier played performance! When discussing the production, we have Denny, someone who is also familiar amongst the hip-hop royalty! Producing a list of your favourite tracks in the last few years and now has decided to return with one of the most infectious instrumental rhythms I’ve heard all year, and I ain’t fronting! This shit goes beyond hard and into realms of pure hypnotic! First off, I love what feels like a homage paid to the legend—John Coltrane in the name of the track— and the beautiful jazz inspiration that comes laced with a bit of dangerous theatrics to it, with those methodical charges to the jazz horns that go off in that infectious loop that’s combined with those mesmerizing drum beats that come together for a rather minimal instrumental but one that is as heavy and potent as any you’ll find anywhere! The true testament of talent by Denny. A man who can take the most stripped-back elements and create a classic with them. Known for his superior techniques and skill with the layering of instrumentation, and this track is a shining example of those abilities! If you ain’t on this new track, then what are you on?
