Hit after hit working with a who’s who of names to keep his momentum going and this time it’s back with yet another beat maker that’s new to me and this track might be his best yet! Let’s talk about it! This is the brand new single by MC -LOZEE and Producer -YOUNG TAY and together they drop this lavish yet hard hitting 3 minutes and 25 seconds of pure, authentic hip hop energy that I guarantee you’ll all love! I feel we received a more introspective, intimate and personal side of LOZEE that we haven’t seen in some times. He’s letting all his mind, thoughts and feelings into one track and in no exact rhyme or reason just spitballing the various issues and topics that are on his mind and it helps provide a thought provoking track that I genuinely found interesting and made me think about life myself! Whether it be his cryptic lyrics like the opening line on the song ‘What’s a Penny to a dollar, what’s a water to the sea?’ That’s how the song kicks off and from there we get the spin of different stages of thoughts by LOZEE! From asking if CD’s are coming back or his usage of the trees to relax. His assumed decline in the game because of his age of 45! His own personal confidence or about artists selling out and ‘singing on the dotted line’ he’s literally bearing his heart out on this track and it’s a refreshing sign of him that I hope we see more of! Smooth yet impactful penmanship combined with fluent flows and strong sense of self worth! The perfect combination for a track like this! As we discuss the production side of things we hear -YOUNG TAY brings that mysterious, old fashion try boom Bap track that feels like unlike anything I’ve heard all year. This feels like Polar Express meets Hugo meets underground hip hop! (That’s a weird fusion I know) but I can’t help it the atmosphere feels like that! Because you have those lush and delicate piano keys that give this song that mysterious vibe! That’s combined with those tweaking strings with those violin samples and subtle bass and drums! It’s such a unique take on an instrumental that it leave me in a state of consistent imagination that it took me a few listens to actually pay attention to the lyrics! I also love how the beat just fades off instead of ending! Reminds me of those 1980’s era rock songs that didn’t know how to stop so they just kept fading away! Similar shit here! All in all, another fantastic single by LOZEE and YOUNG TAY! A song I guarantee you haven’t heard another like it! Believe that!
