Real art speaks for itself. I feel we’ve all become desensitised to true value ever since DSP started. Do I use it? Absolutely, is it convenient? Massively. But it also makes us second guess the idea of supporting the ‘art’ directly once a $ price tag comes into it. This is an album that yes is costly at $123.45 but I can tell you now, this level of creativity, artistry and originality is not something you’ll find anywhere else. As the phrase goes ‘Real art gets shown at museums’ well this piece is behind a digital paywall that is worth every single dollar. Let’s talk about why! This is the brand new album by the duo known as ‘SHAWBRUVAZ’ which is the combination of MC/Producers -INF and Al Divino. Together they drop this sequel to the critically acclaimed free album -TWIN BLADEZ OF DOOM that left the culture on its head. 18 tracks with no features besides Bravo on the skits. I think I mentioned this in the first album they dropped together but it has to be said. These two are the living embodiments of MF DOOM. That same spirit, unconventional energy and timing on the bars. The use of unorthodox production that most wouldn’t dare touch that they use to their advantages and just their incredible presence (solo and as a duo) makes them in my opinion the only true successors in the industry. What makes this album stand out more then anything is how smoothly they are able to blend and morph the use of ‘chaos’ and craft a masterpiece with it. To an untrained ear this might sound like a bunch of psychotic skits and noises without any rhyme or reason. But a true one knows that despite the surface level insanity there is a method to the madness that only these two seem to be able to create! INF was the sole producer for this one and you can tell the Divino influence has rubbed off on him as he creates a soundscape of experimental, stripped back, surreal boom Bap instrumentals that somehow wrap together to create this world of tense and exciting possibilities that you could swear come to life in your ears! It’s like your tuned into a 1980’s B Side Samurai Film soundtrack. That gritty and raw atmosphere that doesn’t feel polished at all! Just intimate and warped layers of grandeur that makes you feel like you’re walking through an adventure! In true ‘DOOM’ fashion. The sound signatures are Bizarre, and the bar work? Even more! Divino and INF are two men ripped straight outta comic book! It’s like they are dropping endless onomatopoeias like your flipping pages in a comic! ‘BOOM, SLAP, PUNCH, KILL’ each bar they spit feels like your watching Batman and Redhood lyrically tag teaming as they run the gauntlet on Gotham’s crime syndicates! They match each other to a tee! As two main characters of this comic they take turns delivering penmanship feats most couldn’t even touch! One will start the track, the other will finish it and both going back and forth in such a lethal showdown for the ages! What makes it even more comic like is the various snippets/skits laced throughout the tracks that depict these insane, high stakes situation that increase the intensity and thrill of the record 10x fold! It’s like the wave length of the record never fluctuates even once! It’s just fast paced from the get go! Again, a lot of you will see the price tag of this album and be put off. That’s what the modern society has forced you into. But I can confidently say if you don’t support these two men with your $ then you will be missing out on a hip hop.. nah fuck that ON A MUSICAL experience that you won’t find anywhere else!
