SUGE KNIGHT IS REALLY A GOOD GUY

#HipHop#Underground#067Red#
I’ve actually said this to the man himself multiple times over but it’s been sometime since I’ve said a rise of this caliber. In the last few years he’s cultivated one of the strongest careers and must listen discographies in the underground. Each new album drop feels like a red carpet event and this time is no different! With a list of the strongest producers for this occasion we get to experience an album that makes you question
‘Is Suge Knight a really good guy?’ Let’s discuss it!
This is the brand new album by hip hop artist 067Red with an array of production including the likes of
-Lo Katana
-ZILLY900
-Tremendiss
-REDHAND
-BAD LUNGS
-Dev Rogers
-BONEWESO
-Skip The Kid
And MC’s such as
-Musalini
-Bruiser Wolf
-BeenOfficalLord
-BlueHillBill
And right off the bat from the first track in I could tell this was going to be another special showcase. I don’t know what it is but whenever a collection of producers enter a 067 Red album they release some of the most iconic and memorable instrumentals you’ve heard! There seems to be a sort of spell that makes each artist in the location feel enlightened and elevated. Not to mention he always hires only the most premium names to the score which makes this the most overkill soundtrack you could ask for!
I want to give a quick shoutout to my main man Dev Rogers. I’ve experienced him at his lowest and his highest and the fact he’s on this album and getting the recognition he has deserved since 2025 literally makes me smile ear to ear. He’s letting the audience feel his power, presence and personality that only HE can manifest. On his track we hear the most gorgeous use of vocal loops that have two different layers to it! One in a more repetitive motion the other in a lively actual singing lines!
That combined with those luscious strings and that constant organ structure that gives a slight gospel meets boom Bap feel to it! A truly extraordinary instrumental that can only come from my brother in industry DEV ROGERS, The Illest.
Other fantastic beats are -ONE POINT FOUR IN BAIL MONEY where we see that entertaining guest interview that transforms into this mystical beat featuring what sounds like elegant flute loops, plucked strings, some sharp synth chords and an overall enlightened sound that makes you feel like your on a new plane of consciousness!
We have tracks like -BIXBIXDUCCE which has this delicate soul feel to it with those groovy chord progressions, synth chord notes, thick bass and what sounds like a maraca going off in the background! This is one of those Anderson Paak type tracks by Zillly900 who has been killing it ever since I discovered him!
Not to mention those dope as features that scatter throughout the song!
Also that fucking outro? That straight pimp talk, prime Snoop Dogg style, G Funk inspired rhyme scheme gave me chills! Talk about paying homage! Truly spectacular!
On the track -05’ MTV AWARD PARTY in true trademark fashion we have Feed The Families Tremendiss flexing with his stripped back cinema with that sombre classical vocal delivery that’s in that hypnotic loop that’s combined with those distorted synth plucked chords and skeletal drum beats! With some very light keys in the background
Only Tremendiss can break down a track this bare and create this kind of sonic magic! Always stunning
Also can’t forget BeenOffical’s domination on the feature slot!
Not to forget the notorious BONEWESO on the cut -SO THEY CIRCLED THE 6 where we hear another grand and theatrical take in music form by BONE.
This one has a sombre vocal line that is looped around the track in such deep and vivid fashion! Sounding like an old school black and white movie with the those heavy violin strings and these almost steel key notes in the background of the track! A truly mesmerising performance that brings a darkness to the vibe of the track!
Now this might sound like a weird example but have you ever had something to eat, snack on or drink and gone ‘what the hell is in this to make it taste so good?’ Well that same theory got me thinking about Red.
What is it about 067 Red that makes each album release not only relevant to the culture but a STAND OUT in it? And after thinking on it I think the answer has to be
-confidence and charisma
Don’t get me wrong, he’s a fantastic lyricist, fluent in his flow and all the other integral aspects that makes a top tier rapper but with his gravelly vocals and harsh tone it’s not easy to utilise in the hip hop world and yet he’s become a sought after commodity in the landscape and the reason is his unyielding confidence and endless stamina
Across this album (and all the others) he presents an attitude and belief in himself that makes each bar he spits feel important!
He’s invested in himself completely making that same feeling of empowerment transfer to the audience for us to go ‘oh shit, that’s some dope verses’ the power of positive thinking! In fact he’s utilising the same go getter, fuck the world attitude as one SUGE KNIGHT! Someone who made his presence felt no matter the room he was in, forced the world to take him seriously and as someone to keep an eye on as has 067!
That’s where the charisma part plays into. It’s no coincidence or luck that he’s constantly by the side of a man such as 1000Word$ or why the best of the best in the producer market are lining up to work with him! Or why his Bars physicals are always some of the most wanted! He ain’t lucky he’s CHARISMATIC and he uses that charm to establish his bars and verses.
Like on the end of the first track how he just started spit balling and free talking and laughing!
Or how whoever goes first in the song as soon as he comes back on with his trademark ‘Ah’ before spitting his verse the tone and mood of the song shifts! He’s created this bubble around him of success, passion, drive, conviction, love for the game, hustle, respect you name it he’s got it all in spades and it’s why he’s become such a powerful force and influence!
I doubt he’ll have to hang anyone over a balcony to get the respect he deserves but it doesn’t change the fact he’s a man with 67 reasons to be remembered!
But it really is ‘A KNOWN UNKNOWN’ I mean from the ‘LEXAGATES to ‘THE LV OTHA ROOM’ he always seems to have the ‘GOLDEN PHASE’ hell ‘IT HAPPENED IN THE PARK’ that time ‘I’M AT THE BMW DEALERSHIP, SWEET TALKING THIS CHINESE WOMAN’ I mean ‘WE DIDN’T EVEN NEED THE SUB’ ‘I WAS TALKING TO JAHNA IN UH DAMIER SLING’ who had a ‘SUPREME NOFACE’ but you know
‘CALIFORNIA IS BANNING GLOCKS, I HAVE TO FIGURE SOMETHING OUT’ but most importantly I have to say
‘SUGE KNIGHT IS REALLY A GOOD GUY’
