Man what a career this man has had already. Since I first discovered him last year he’s exceeded all my expectations and more! ‘The King Of Sunshine Rap’ is one of the most prolific artists we have and he’s not one to miss! Back again with a frequent collaborator and the pair are returning for their third instalment! So let’s talk about it! This is the brand new and third instalment in the series by MC/Producer Sabio Dub & Malhee and the pair drop 15 songs with 30 minutes of run time with the sole feature being -Miskeen Haleem and man they don’t miss! What I noticed about the album this spin around was how the beats felt that much more methodical, paced slower and almost gave off a meditative immersion that you’d only expect to find around Monks and Buddhists. This duo has always brought that smooth and majestic instrumentals but this time it feels straight ASMR in execution. With tracks like -LaFace with the combination of that infinitely looping choir chant inspired sounds with that elegant keyboard keys and rhythmic drums! There’s also some well executed bass that helps add texture to the entire song! This is one of those songs that appears out of nowhere after smoking one too many joints! Tracks like -Ocean’s Eyes stand out for its Synthwave nature! From those sticky, electronically plucked strings, an array of keys that pack a free lance nature to it with some trademark drum patterns to add an extra layer of warmth to the track! Once again showcasing what lowkey reminds me of the music you’d hear on the Game Cube super Mario games! It’s got high ambiance and beautifully crafted. Even the song -Turkey Bags which truly defines ASMR rap to its core. From that atmospheric interlude that is straight synth chords and ambience! It evolves into including some methodically charged drums, well placed bass which is all layered in such a skeletal frame that it feels like a lucid dream! As far as the MC connection, they’ve had two prior albums to showcase just how good they are together and this trilogy only confirms the strength as we see both men reaching astronomical heights of synchronicity in mind, spirit and musical readiness that most duos could only wish they had! Across this half an hour they take the listener on a sonic acid trip of epic adventures! As someone who has participated in the flower this is exactly the same vibes and energy as taking the real thing! Back and fourth they match each others cadence and convictions. Bar for bar, performance in sync with enough passion to fill the room! I love how after one person settings up the strength of the track and passes it on to the next one as they finish off the track in lyrical excellence that only these two can provide! It’s such a refreshing feeling to see two people bring the wholesome and organic chemistry to the forefront and sound like they are having a blast doing it! A fantastic representation of passion, creativity, brotherhood and artistry all rounded into one half an hour session that you won’t wanna miss! So, why take my word for it?
