It’s been what 3 years in the making since these two came together? What a better time then in this amazing current landscape of the culture we have to make a sequel to that infamous EP from 2023 and show the world how dominate of a duo they were/are! So let’s talk about it! This is the brand new album by the combination of MC -Nyeusi Loe and Producer -RSNZ and they come packed with 17 tracks and 36 minutes of music with the likes of -Kaleo Jacobs -cvv.vino as the sole features! Now the last time I heard RSNZ on an album was that direct to customer EP courtesy of ‘THEMELLOS’ which was fantastic! But prior to that I hadn’t really heard his work and now that I’m familiar I can understand why he’s one of the most sought after in the industry. On this album he gives a more frantic, fast paced and messy/experimental approach that felt refreshing and exciting! It’s like he’s throwing the rule book out the window and injecting the more common influences like -Soul -Jazz -Funk -Boom Bap -Trap with steroids and creating a brand new soundscape of beats that feel revived and unique! This project feels less like a soundtrack of tracks but more one fused piece that is briefly cut up into 17 parts! This is the kind of album you could play that would give you instant adrenaline. The type of album you could run to and never get tired! The fact that he incorporates all our favourite aspects of music and blends them into his own atmospheric and explosive renditions is just incredible! He’s a madman with no rhyme or reason in the execution! On some tracks he lets the instrumental breathe till it passes to the next one, on others he floods it with producer tags and adlibs! On others he will take 3-4 different genres and mix until we get an original version of a sound no one’s heard confirmed! Again, the production on this one feels chaotic and unpredictable. From each track to the next you never know what’s coming or what your going to get next and to be honest had I not been looking at the actual Spotify app switching from track to track I’d be hard pressed to notice! Again this sounds more like one long song filled with different parts then it does 17 individual ones! I don’t know what I was expecting but it definitely wasn’t this! If the production is this crazy it’s merely a reflection of Nyeusi himself! Because I’m telling you now this is the most amazingly unhinged I’ve heard him rap since I’ve discovered him. To me he’s always been that type of sensible, free lance MC who spits on his own time but always delivers steady, paced and rhythmic verses. But on this one he’s throwing all conventionality out the window and just going as ballistically fast and frantic as he’s allowed to be to match the ever chaotic production and god is it a sight to hear! Hearing someone who is usually so calculated and precise strip that all down and start rapping like a genius madman is literally perfect. I’ve never heard this side of him and yet I want to hear more! His 1000 words a minute, his borderline loose minded behaviour just spitting when and where he feels like it becoming ONE with the music itself and showing his dedicated fan base that he’s capable of doing so much more with his personality, characteristics and cadence and man I can’t stress enough how cool it is to hear! Even the few features on here feel more free and locked in then I’ve heard them! Trying to process the same level as both rapper and producer and unleash their inner wild side and the chemistry (that was already established) now feels 10x more connected and strong due to the performances demonstrated on this record! 5 words. THIS WAS WORTH THE WAIT! A side to Nyeusi I never dreamed I would see and RSNZ bringing that sonic black hole of every type of scenario possible colliding together it’s just absolutely phenomenal!
