1. How long ago from your last album -Cortina did this one go into production? :I work on multiple projects at once so I already had songs from this album way before Cortina even dropped. 2. Who reached out to work with you? :As far as the features go a couple of them just happened organically, at the spur of the moment being in the studio together. And others I reached out to either cuz i heard them on the record, or just wanted to work with in general. 3. Which came first? The album title ‘Zingtones’ or the concept of the constant vibrating phone used throughout the album :The concept came first. We knew the theme was going to be the phone vibrations from the zings calling, but the title came later after coming up with several different names and that being the one that stuck. 4. When you record your vocals, do you do multiple takes to get it right? Or do you just rely on the energy and organic nature of the first take? :It depends on the moment, the vibe and the actual take. Sometimes that one take is all I need, and other times I might feel like i can do better and do multiple takes. 5. Was there a beat on this one that you favoured over the rest? If so which one and why? :Maybe the Fetty Galore cause i was just in a different type of zone that night. Watching the beat being made from scratch, and catching that specific vibe made me get in a different bag as far as the feel of the record goes. 6. I said on my review that you and Bori seem to have a similar chemistry on tracks, do you feel you guys share the same mind when your together? Or is that just a ‘Feed The Family’ thing :We’re both one of a kind so i wouldn’t say we share the same mind, but that feel, energy, and chemistry you get from us on a record is just a Feed The Family thing. 1 of 1 type of frequency. 7. You call yourself ‘GOD’S FAVOURITE ZINGER’ to those who maybe unfamiliar with street slang or the vocabulary used in albums like these what does it mean to be a zinger? :To be a zinger simply means to be a “hustler”. One who sells something and makes a prophet from it, no matter the product or merchandise. 8. As we see attention spans go down and albums becoming shorter. Do you find it a challenge to keep records such as this which is 30minutes long? :I don’t find it a challenge at all, I just cook. Whoever gravitates towards it is going to appreciate it, and the ones that don’t just don’t. Sometimes people are just late bloomers and need a little extra time to catch up. 9. If you were stuck on a stranded dessert island with nothing but 2 albums of any genre to listen to for the rest of your life what would they be and why? :This was tough to answer. But i would have to say Luis Segura’s greatest hits which is the greatest Bachata artist. And second I’ma go with Feed The Family’s debut album. The bachata because i grew up off it on the strength of my pops and it’s just the Dominican way. And FTF because it changed the game and put us in rooms no other prior project did. Timeless Classic.
