It’s time for a cover of a new release. It’s always an exciting time to listen to a record of someone I haven’t heard before! The ideas and anticipations I have for how it will sound, well we finally have the answer here so join me as we discuss it! This is the brand new album by Producer -Unregistered User with co producer credits for -B4lasers -BillyTheKid And it features MC’s such as -DSkillz Harris -Vermin The Villain -BSerpa -Cleva Thoughts -Lokye -Vic Spencer -Kenny Morningstar -Blaq Kush And voice credits to -Duck Girl on the intro First of all, that intro? GOD DAMN! If CyberPunk, Blade Runner and Daft Punk had a child that was a bastard child of The Weeknd then it would sound like this! I was not expecting that Electronic Synth Wave/Pop influence and it definitely set the tone for the entire record! As we discuss the production aspect this album gives the listener this tech heavy, fever dream dystopian fantasy vibes that I found rather addicting and a few key tracks I found absorbed this sonic narrative better then the rest! Them being -MASS APPEAL this track captivated me with that intro of those echoing chords that later evolved into this distorted, glitch based noise/lo fi experiential instrumental that consists of those fast and disorienting chord progressions that is combined with that muffled methodical drum beats and those messy yet infectious vocal stims that explode throughout the entire track! Definitely an engaging experience for sure! -PAC-MAN WRIST on this one we hear another distorted fever dream that feels a tad bit more grounded in a traditional hip hop beat. You’ve got those high pitch electronic style chords that are prominent throughout the track but you’ve also got some upfront hypnotic drum patterns, this truly dark and gritty bass line and this underlying vocal snippet that loops throughout the track every 5 seconds or so! -HI-SCORE CLUB was another one of my favourites. This song sounded like listening to Boyz II Men on crack! A heavy RNB vibe amplified 200%! From those explosive synth style chords, those distorted piano keys that combine with those rock and roll style drum work and naturally heavy bass! This one felt louder than the rest (probably intentionally so) and I feel it paid off in creating a certain kind of vibe! Okay, as far as the MC work goes I analysed it like this. Instead of counting them as mere features on an album based on the production and themes of this record it feels more like a handful of main characters to pick from in a video game that each have their own move set, dialogue, characteristics and style! Except in this case you get to sample each artist and hear their traits for yourself! We’ve got a group of different flows, different intensity levels like choosing to play through on relaxing to difficult mode! You can hear how each player is hand picked for the various stages and instrumentals they were given! I love the versatility of it all. It’s like playing a game of Tekken! Each person has their own strengths and advantages that make them special! Consider this album like an audio fight you get to listen to instead of play that’s set in the world of Cyberpunk! (What a dope concept for a game) but regardless because of the nature of the instrumentals and how they interact with the rappers this js honestly how it feels! So, turn tour console on (open your preferred streaming service) turn on your controller (turn on your headphones) and get ready for the next battle! (Prepare to enjoy a dope ass fucking album!)
