I was sent this track and based on name sake alone on who was in it I knew this had potential to be dope. Two men I’m very familiar with chalking it up in a single form? Sign me up. So without any more wasting time let’s talk about it! This is the brand new single by MC -DB and Producer -Eric Frm Salem and collectively they drop this short one minute and 46 second track that honestly reminds me of the 2000’s Prime era of hip hop in alot ways. Let me explain. Firstly discussing DB’s verse, he kind of reminds me of Ricky Ross Meets T.I! It’s filled with heavy brash and bragging bars, flexing demeanours with a strong charisma and confidence attached to his style. Methodical flow and sharp cadence DB is trying to showcase his more slick and fast minded style and the approach works well! He knows he only has less then two minute to pull off a banger and he chooses the most vibrant, effective and infectious way possible! Definitely a solid verse by DB As we discuss the production process we hear an instrumental that also compliments that 2000’s era style trap beat! This beat consists of some large drum parts, intricate piano keys, thudding bass and a combination of synth style chord progressions that all work together to create this massive stadium sounds that you’d expect to hear at halftime shows! It also helps that in the later half of the track we hear these mesmerising Jazz Horns that add a new layer of atmosphere and texture to the track to make it even more grand in experience and execution! Once again, for a track that’s under two minutes long these two don’t miss! A fantastic verse with a fantastic instrumental! Sometimes it’s the simplest stuff that works best!
