Well, I definitely wasn’t expecting this on my bingo card. A full beat makers set list by this producer? Color me surprised. With an entire 32 tracks to choose from that it’s bound to leave an impression on you! Let’s go! This is the brand new instrumental project by Producer -Preed One! As I mentioned 32 tracks and a lot of vibe and atmosphere to go around! So we’ve got a handful of tracks that spoke to me and I’ll explain them in detail. We have -GrimeTime which sounds exactly like it’s told in the title. It’s this eerie chord heavy orchestration of minimal layers that makes you feel like you’re in the era of Jack The Ripper roaming through the streets looking for his latest victim! We have the track -Insomniac which offers this almost reggaeton/soul flavoured tune with a combination of sharp keys in the background, heavy bombastic drum work and some delicate strings! This one has a more trademark hip hop vibe then the other but still marks itself as a 90’s inspired instrumental that I loved! There’s the track -BlueBerry Smoothie which introduces us to a more casual, smooth and soothing sound of Soul! from that slick vocal harmony at the start that evolves into more of a snippet and cut! On this one we have more heavy bass mixed with some plucked strings, engaging drum patterns and some delicate piano keys in the background to give this track some subtle texture addition On -Upsettrs we get a more G-Funk flavoured track that had me smiling ear to ear! Bringing back to my nostalgic teen years of Dr Dre! On this one we have a funky ass instrumental that features those classic sharp synth chords combined with those Jazz like keys, lively drums, more subtle bass work and some incredibly cut vocal work that’s scattered throughout the track! Truly one of my favourite on the album! On the song -Soul Vibes we get a track that sounds exactly as the name describes. A soulful atmosphere unlike any other! From those gorgeous vocal lines to the craftsmanship of the cuts! We’ve got some mesmerising drum beats, sharp chords in the background and heavy bass! Reminds me of some 1980 Soul work! Or maybe even some New Jack Swing! -Treat You Right has this incredible symphony of sounds that give this track a 70’s vibe to it with its lush strings and Jazz horn fusion! Take that and add some hypnotic drum work and shrieking keys in the background and top it off with a light vocal work and you have a song that sounds like it was made for the summer time to play at the beach! The song -Smooth Talk has this almost tangy tinge to it that I found most curious. From that tweaking chord progression you hear at the start and throughout the song! In an almost 1980’s funk execution you’ve got those plucked strings and P-Funk notes that combined with the drums makes this something I’d expect Bobby Brown to jump on! Look, moral of the story? There are 31 tracks here. You’d be lying to yourself if you said to me not even one of these got your attention. He’s showcasing his versatility in the most catchy way possible so why not support and join in!
