Element III: Water

It’s rather convenient that Water is the third element in the series as it takes 3 (H/2/0) to create the substance of WATER! And with that simple fact we get presented this brand new tape by a man who decided to dedicate 2026 to his study and interpretation of the elements in his own sound and image and he’s done a fantastic job doing so! Paring up with one of my favourite producers in the game these two haven’t missed a step yet! Let’s go! This is the brand new EP by -MC Eyeflo and Producer -DeevoDaGenius with one feature in -Maye Star and this duo once again presents a strong and powerful handle of tracks that share a varied range of influences that differ from the other two tapes! What I noticed pretty early on in the tape is the direction of the production. This one feels a ton more atmospheric, ambient and dare I say ‘fluent’ like the ASMR version of sleeping inside a beautiful shallow river that’s clear enough to see your body in on a beautiful summers day surrounded by nature. It’s organically awe inspiring and contains maybe my favourite production from the Element tapes yet! Whether your talking tracks like -Ripple which has that deep and mesmerising vocal loop that has this outer worldly feel to it. It takes over the whole track while accompanied by some subtle bass strings, slow paced drums with those shimmering hi cat hits! I love this track because Deevo is able to use a small handful of layers to create the ultimate track that you can feel flowing through your body, mind and soul! Same can be said for the track -Survival. Again another track with that hypnotic classic vocal loop that gives the audience goosebumps as it commands a strong presence whenever the main vocal comes back around! There’s the cut snippers that remain the whole track and then the occasional chorus part that thrills Everytime! This song also consists of some sharp synth style chords with some subtle plucked strings and some fluent keys that help give this song a more distinctive texture and sound! This is also the song with the sole feature of -Maye who dominants the seconds half! I love how on the finale track -Do It Like This they decide to go a more soulful/funky route as if they are simulating a more vibrant and active ocean wave! You’ve got the combination of that angelic and subtle vocal harmony that has that mind blowing chord progression loop that had me swaying my head back and fourth the entire track that’s met with some lively drum work and heavy bass! An unexpected yet powerful stance to close the EP off like an unruly beach that would temp the most experienced of swimmers to tackle! You know, when speaking on the performances of Eyeflo. It’s worth noting that he’s stayed consistent this entire series and he does his part of switching his speed or tone or rhyming patterns depending on the instrumentals but it’s not as if he’s doing any alter ego shit and that Element: I Eyeflo is a different person then Element: III but instead the genius is he’s using the subtle strategies I mentioned above to make each EP feel slightly different then the ones that came before and make the actual Element promoted feel unique! On this one, he feels more mellow and Methodical. He kind of reminds me of early career -Big K.R.I.T his verses feel galactic in presence and power. Not in a menacing way but in a divine and spiritual manner! As if he’s preaching ancient tablet gospel that circulate around the concept of water! I love how he handles himself across these 6 tracks, he’s able to turn 14 minutes into a masterclass of various perspectives, performances and styles that help suit the different concepts he’s bringing to the table. He’s a true artist in the sense that can be make the most out of just a simple tweak of his voice and rapping patterns! Of course there is that one feature but for the most part he rocks these solo. He understands and values his talents and skills and knows it’s more then enough to capture the audiences hearts and minds as he has done me and that my friends is priceless! So, what are you waiting for? I know you fucked with the first two! Just as I know you will this one!
