From Bozrah Dipped In Blood

As I made clear in my promotional post for the second single they dropped. This duo is creating music that transcends the art of hip hop, they are manifesting ‘art’ in a way that no one else in the game is doing. Now with this third single dropped I become impatient as ever for the release of the album! So let’s talk about it! This is the brand new single by MC -Let The Dirt Say Amen with Producer -Superior and together they drop this 2 minute and 50 seconds song that redefines the elegance, originality and purity of the down to earth hip hop landscape that they’ve been travelling these past three singles! I guess I’ll start with the lyricism aspect. I can’t put my finger on it but Let has this incredible way of speaking where he captures your attention the moment he opens his mouth. I understand on the first single he was paying tribute to ‘Ka’ but I feel there’s no mistaking it now, he’s truly the best succession of the man and his style, attributes in this rap game. The way he can rap in that nonchalant tone that is somehow powerful and sharp as well as insightful and entertaining all in one. There’s a specific line in here that Dirt says that instantly transported me to Ka’s song ‘Land Of Nod’ how he goes ‘I live this vivid shit, I ain’t that creative’ The line in this song is ‘it ain’t much, but I can buy it all with rap money/clap for me, some people hate me for my heart’ that line gave me fucking goosebumps! It’s as if the spirit of Ka was piercing through on this verse and it was an incredible showing of penmanship! The way he’s able to amplify such a short song into this magnificent lyrical narrative is truly insane! Definitely my pick for the strongest lyricist of the new generation! On the production side of things we have of course Superior. A man I first discovered when he produced that old Estee Nack album ‘BALADAS’ and I haven’t looked back. The way he’s able to amplify instrumentation into a grand scale is incredible to me and boy does he nail it on this one! For this track we have this mellow instrumental that combines the classical interpretation of subtle keys that have that long wind associated with them that later evolve into that lively jazz melody across the song! That is accompanied by some trademark bass strings that stay in the forefront of the track that’s combined with some light, soft funk style drum beats and shimmering piano that makes this feel like a fever dream come to life! It’s these exact surreal yet atmospheric tracks that best amplify the lyricism of Let. The more stripped back beats to focus further on the sentences and messages spoken and that understanding is what makes the chemistry between the two feel so unique and stand out from the rest of the industry! With no surprise to me or should be to anyone, this is one hell of a track! This is shaping up to be a generation defining album once it drops as these two are creating a lane that I’m not sure anyone can follow!
