LOAD THE LAMB

Well, what an exciting opportunity! Being able to cover a project by a rapper I fuck with heavy? AND discover a new producer in the process? What a day! I love moments like these because it’s the literal definition of a -Win/Win situation. So with that in mind, let’s get into it! This is the 28 Dec 2025 EP by MC 067 Red and Producer DiMaggio and these two dropped a quick 3 track offering with only 4 minutes of run time but with a whole range of instrumentation and vibes to work with! Let’s start with the production side of things as this was my first time experiencing-DiMaggio’s work I was curious how he was going to utilise Red’s signature sound and what techniques he would bring to the table and that’s what I’ll be discussing now! Firstly, we have the opening track -2 POINT 5 which has this incredible atmosphere with those long and elegant piano keys that have an almost haunting/hypnotic effect to their simplicity! As those loop we also have some heavy drum beats and some thick bass that all comes together to create an instrumental that is equal parts minimal and powerful! On the track -50 LV BAG we hear a more theatrical style take it’s turn with those classical strings that kick the track off in that beautifully elegant structure that’s combined with some lavish synth keys that appear every 5-7 seconds and some more bass and drums! This one feels like a 1960’s private party vibes! It’s distinguished and tasteful! Amazing track And finally we have -JACKSON 5 which honestly doesn’t sound like a song they would have made but it’s phenomenal nonetheless! On this one we hear some more skeletal piano keys in a more acoustic/organic presence that’s combined with some light bass! This might actually be my favourite track on the EP for its stripped back feel that is done ever so tastefully. Further proof if you have a quality producer you don’t need alot to make a lot! I also love how this track ends with some exquisite chord progressions and what sounds like some light flute work? Man, what can I say about 067 that I haven’t already stated? As I mentioned in my last review he’s been on a rise unlike any other and for good reason. From his deep and one of a kind voice to his laid back, free lance style demeanour and flow it makes his performances that much more intriguing and interesting to listen to! It doesn’t even sound like he’s ’performing’ but more just speaking his thoughts and opinions that just happen to rhyme! He has such a mesmerising sense of wordplay, bar positing and an overall enigma quality about him that I can’t shake. Considering this is only 4 minutes long he utilises each second to the best of its potential! Making each vibe feel amplified and fun to listen to! I don’t want no excuses from you all to not listen to this. It’s literally 4 minutes long! There is no one who has a smartphone, PC or Tablet who doesn’t have 4 minutes to spare so I want everyone to tap in and support!
