You know, one of the main things I love about this man (pause) is his nack for trying new things! I swear every new single or project sounds different than the one that came before! It’s in this thirst for creativity and originality that I look forward to covering what he comes with next, with that in mind let’s talk about it! This is the brand new single by MC -Ill Java and Producer -Southlake and this track is literally one second off the 3 minute mark yet packs years of a punch worth of emotion, intensity and atmosphere inside of it. Let’s discuss the rapping aspect first because I’m not sure I’ve heard I’ll get this methodical before! Truly unreal! Across this 2 minutes and 59 seconds we hear a damn near sadistic and lifeless vocals of Java. In a mix of something inbetween Earl Sweatshirt and Billy Woods you have a flow that’s slow but monstrous in vibe, heaviness and execution! He somehow makes each word feel like blocks of concrete! The way he’s rapping it sounds like he’s personally trying to break someone down specifically. It feels like his words are sharp and pointed aiming at an individual and when you combine that with his street poetry bars while flexing his incredible vocabulary you have a powerhouse of an MC that will draw you into his chaotic world of bars and not let go until the last second of the track! Truly spectacular and eerie work by Java, haven’t heard him better! When we de discuss the production which I now realised is a cat I fucked with way back at the start of my website and not sure I’ve covered since! On this one he creates an equal vibe instrumental to match Java’s intensity on the mic. On this one we hear this combination of swaying synth style chords echoing in and out that later takes a background role but remains prominent throughout the whole track! That’s combined with some sickeningly powerful drum beats with some brutal bass that all comes together to create what sounds like a pocket dimension of all things evil and chaotic! This is the type of instrumental that will fuck with your brain unless you have the same matching darkness to feed it! As Java did with his unique bars. Definitely don’t listen to this beat at night it will mentally fuck you and your psyche up! Long story short, this is definitely a track worth checking out just do it at your own risk!
