Pure Form 4

Quite frankly I’m offended. In the intro they shoutout all countries from around the world and Australia don’t get one? The home of the Serpent Tongue wasn’t worthy of mention! How sad. But nah jokes aside! (Kind of) I wasn’t expecting a 4th instalment so soon! Especially since the third only dropped in late January of this year but I guess ‘if it ain’t broke don’t fix it’ and that’s the formula they are rocking with this one! Let’s talk about it. This is the 4th series drop by MC’s -MISKEEN HALEEM and -Sabio Dub (with Production Credits by Sabio) and together they drop this 12 track, 32 minute experience with the likes of -God Gotti -Malhee -THEFOODLORD Familiar players in the story of Sabio if you’ve been following his career along! Now with this in mind what I always have to remember when covering one of these new sequels is the fact this is the first album I heard of Sabio! Considering the sound shift the rest of his discography has taken it’s crazy to me now that this type of sound is what my first impression was of him! With that being said, this album does follow the same grand, theatrical and larger than life sounds as the first three. Whenever these two come around it’s like they bring out their inner cinema scores. Sounds that aren’t quite as big when they try solo but work perfectly as a duo! As we get directly from that epic (yet snubbed intro) we see they going for that worldwide atmosphere! They want the entire planet to know they on that different shit and it sets up fantastically for the rest of the record! Whether your talking about the first official song in -WISH with that snappy/classical vocal loop that’s combined with those groovy piano keys and rhythmic drum beats that make this feel like a blend of modern day hip hop and 1950’s Swing Club vibes! Of course -MISKEEM sets up the verse nicely for Sabio to match towards the end! You’ve got tracks like -MARY JANE which has this late 1970’s Soulful vibe with that gorgeous vocal sample that is paired with those swaying plucked strings and escalating type chord progressions in the background that worked well with that mesmerising drum beat that adds some depth to the instrumental! Or even the track -CINEMATIC FORM which is a name that speaks for itself. It has another dose of synth vibes that sound like it’s ripped from a 1980’s dystopian movie montage! You’ve got those lively as fuck keys that play at the forefront of the track as well as this truly ‘cinematic’ narration at the beginning of the track to pump you full of adrenaline! Then we have those iconic synth chords blitzing through the instrumental as well as some overall strong atmosphere that will make you run through Blade Runner like you were playing on easy mode! What haven’t I said about this duo already lyrically? Since the first one they’ve even playing each others opposites. One is more aggressive one is more mellow and together they fuse into the perfect MC! -MISKEEN DUB or SABIOKEEN HUB (damn that’s fire) either way Potara rings or not they make a hell of a team and keep every track on this thing vibrant, fun and refreshing across all the various beats! This one legit feels like they are escaping the world with just each other to their name. Completing each others lines, passing the momentum back and forth and making it look easy! Of course there are a few key features, brothers in the underground cause who always know how to amplify the feature positions and bring the fire to the instrumentals alongside the pair and this time is no different!
