After this producers break out record with Bori earlier this year I knew I had to keep an eye on him and thank god I did. Because it seems he’s on a straight path to stardom with the work he’s been putting in and nothing screams that more than the man he’s got on this one today! A collaboration I know is gonna tear the house down so let’s get into it! This is the brand new album by Producer Vish & Mugsy (and one track by BONEWESO) and 23 Incredible’s own ??? And together they drop this 10 track phenomenon with the likes of -CODENINE -WRITEOUS -NYEUSI LOE And you don’t need more then those 3 names to rock the boat and trust me they damn near split the sonic sea like Moses. So, the first thing I noticed (as far as the production was concerned) is that Vish and company felt like they were time travelling and going to all these different Hallmarks in time to bring back a variety of sounds and influences to diversify the record! For example the intro track by BONE? Sounds like it came from ancient Egypt with that cinematic vocal harmony mixed with that stripped sounds that have this tribal tone to it with that guy delivering a sermon in straight BONE fashion! We have tracks like -REDLIGHTBEAM which makes feel like I’m in a 1950’s Jazz club! You’ve got those two layers of keys one in a glistening rhythm the other in an organic fast paced motion that’s combined with some thudding drums with some thick bass! I can imagine drinking an old fashion with a fat cigar watching a musician playing some live music! There’s the track -MASONWORK which definitely has a 1960’s Miles Davis feel to it, during his more traditional era! Just sitting there watching a master of his craft doing his thing! On this one you’ve got those gorgeous keys going off in that methodical loop combined with some slow drums and more thick bass that adds a ton of relaxing texture to the track! This is the type of old school street music you’d fall asleep to! It was stripped back and atmospheric at once! The final track -SUPERNINTENDO makes me feel like I’m the Victorian Era poverty section. This track has a sombre and gritty tone to it that I couldn’t shake! From those moody Jazz horns to those subtle strings that give off a sense of ‘danger’ with each pluck. The drums feel deadly in their cerebral motions and that bass? Absolutely sickening! When we discuss ??? His work over the past few years has been ‘incredible’ to say the least. From his sought after features to his ground breaking album that has helped him form a new lane in the culture using his fast paced delivery and clever rhyming schemes to break new ground that very few can match and on this one he’s catching lighting in a bottle for the 10x time in his career! It’s 10 tracks of his trademark lethal rhythm that is a combination of his bendy delivery and brash street poetry that can give off some of the toughest bars you’ve heard in your life! He can turn a verse into 4-5 quotable that will stick in your head rent free for the coming weeks! He has that effect with his bars! I also love how he utilises his personal slang and enunciations of words that can make him rap this fast pace but still he understood as clearly as he is! It doesn’t matter the tone of the track, he can match any and all (as is proven by the variety on this track) and other projects he’s worked on. As far as the features go for those familiar him and -CODENINE released that ridiculous duo album not long ago that I still consider one of my picks for ‘AOTY’ and -WRITEOUS & LOE being familiar brothers in the 23 camp come equipped with that dope chemistry that never misses! As usual, ??? Doesn’t miss! He still comes through with that infectious verses, bar work and abrasive attitude that we’ve all come to love and Vish X Mugsy drop a solid effort in the beats as well!
