Well it goes like this, prominent producer ‘GHOSTXMACHINE’ has spent the better part of 2 years releasing a collection of dope singles, albums with mainly his partner in crime -MIYAGISUN and he’s decided to stop and go ‘you know what, I want to release something that is just for me, just beats!’ And that’s where we find ourselves now. A man who I’ve said a world of positives about regarding his creativity and versatility and now he’s here to give us an in depth look into his work and quality of music in this new album so let’s get into it! This is the brand new BEAT TAPE by Producer -GHOSTXMACHINE that features a total of 14 tracks and enough energy and atmosphere to cover the entire USA! A man who’s never shied away from ‘pushing the boundaries’ here’s here to showcase why he’s one of the most interesting beat makers we have going! So we have familiar tracks on Beat One which is the same used for -Dance 4 Me as I already explained in my single review I loved its bouncy, dancehall meets Lofi vibe with those swaying chord progressions and synth style drums! We have tracks like Beat Three which reminded me of -Super Mario on the Game Cube. That bouncy, lively soundtrack? Those glistening keys, fast paced chords, thick bass and what sounds like some synth style chords that cuts through the centre of the song and some elastic drums that feel like it ricochets of the ground! I love how this also includes some snippets of vocal samples that sound tribal in a sense! We have tracks like -Beat Four which I found rather sensual in its execution. Like a Lo Fi love song! or one of those old school Alt RnB Odd Future cuts from Tyler’s earlier albums! This one has some sharp synth keys that have a distorted vibe to them that comes packed with some infectious bass lines and some precious keys towards the end that add a tone of new texture! We have tracks like -Beat Seven in where we hear this Spanish singing opening sample that later evolves into this beautiful ambient atmosphere with those luscious piano keys that are accompanied by some stripped back drum work and what sounds like someone using a stone trying to light a fire! As well as some distorted vocal samples that appear occasionally! There’s songs such as Beat Eleven which instantly draws you in with that sombre, dark vibe to it! You’ve got those distorted strings, angelic female choir vocals as well as some truly haunting secondary vocal snippets that sound like a ghost trying to communicate via a telecom! This is all wrapped up with some slow paced drums! On the finale track, Beat Fourteen we have this obscure & ambient offering that provides this fleeting feeling of freedom and inner peace! You’ve got those lavish strings mixed with those freeing piano chords that have this bubbly nature to them as they roam around the beat in their own patterns and grooves! This also has some thick bass and minimal drums to provide that extra texture! Just take my word for it. There’s a lot of killer sounds to explore on this one, a wide range of influences, styles and acts that I’m sure will please everyone! He’s already proven himself when there’s other artists involved and now he’s proven he makes killer beat tapes as well!
