SPLENDID CINEMA, YES INDEED!

Based on the album art alone this had me intrigued. It made remember what he brought me the last we liked up and it made me remember his potential and nack for creativity. With that in mind I can’t lie, this release had me the most hyped to listen to! Let’s talk about it! This is the brand new album by MC/Producer -wav.yliving who works along side Producer -THE KUSHITES and across this massive 19 track album we have features from -JAYMATIC -KiiiNG MZA -GRIOTNOY And to say this this is grand or wavy would be a universal understatement! Because across this gargantuan record where you’ll normally expect a long, dragging listening experience (like alot of albums this length can present) on this occasion you get a symphony of sounds that match the natural ambience of the waves of the ocean, the breeze of the wind and the various creatures moving around in their surroundings. This thing is barely an album it’s a score of life. Let me explain! We have tracks like -AH, YA KNOW, JUST KEEPIN’ SPLENDID DON’T ME (DA WAV. GON SPLASH) because on this one you get that beautiful 80’s Synth Pop feel that’s blended with Hip Hop! Pure positivity injected into your veins! On this one we have those sticky chords that loop ever so melodically across this track that has those sharp high strings in that 3 second intervals and that rhythmic drums that make this one of 19 examples of the pure aura this album provides! We have songs like -YES BABY, FOREVER MY WAVY LADY (WAV.Y MAKER MUSIC) in where we hear wav utilise this blend of Jazz and Soul in this gorgeous fusion that melts away all your problems! From those subtle and lavish Jazz horns combined with those angelic vocal snippets, mesmerising drum patterns that all comes together in an incredible effort that makes me which this track is at least an hour long! There’s songs like -THE SOFTNESS WE LONG FOR (A GLIMPSE OF HEAVEN) the title describes the vibe perfectly! On this one we hear the intro with those ASMR style ocean waves that later evolved into these high pitch Jazz horns combined with angels singing in a choir looping this divine track up. There’s also some methodically paced plucked strings that add a sense of gorgeous texture to the song! These are just 3 of 19 tracks in describing. My job isn’t to spoil everything for the listener but to give you a taste of the magic he and -THE KUSHITES are brining to the table and it’s as simple as thing, if those above descriptions don’t excite you then your taste is severely out of tune because i guarantee those and the rest are on GOD TIME! When we discuss the MC work man Wav has out did himself in every way possible. Because while he created 70% of the production himself he also had the smarts to properly utilise and amplify each instrumental with his own brand of confident, charismatic and aura filled verses that feel like your listening to an author delivering all his bars laying on a beach letting nature itself be his driving force for his presence! Each verse feels like an expression of his own self. As if he’s tapping into his soul and who he is as a person, there’s a level of acceptance and humbleness to his voice that I can’t quite put my finger on but I can feel that it’s there! A sense of gratitude and appreciation for the position that he’s In, from his smooth and steady flows to his understanding of ‘patience’ on the beat. Sometimes he’ll let a beat ride and let the audience feel the power of the music itself, sometimes he’ll speak his mind after the official track verses to enlighten the listeners! Sometimes he’ll drop a quick one minute track and just spit a fast paced flow to showcase his talent on the mic. Sometimes he’ll drop a near 5 minute track to let you absorb his bars, music and atmosphere in a more intimate manner! He’s literally left no stone unturned. He wants to utilise absolutely every aspect of this score and in doing so he’s leaving us with an absolutely masterpiece of a soundtrack that I guarantee will rewire your mindset post listening. Also the fact he invites only a small handful of features says a lot to me. It says he doesn’t need a crowd to make a splash, but instead a few microphones killers to give a specific set of tracks that extra kick to create some bangers. Smartly played by him! Look, I’m not gonna force you to listen to it. Just if I could do that I would! This is a record I feel everyone should experience at least once! It’s a magnificent showing of artistry, concept, creativity and everything in between. If you ain’t feeling this one then I really don’t know what to say because this is the definition of WAVY!
