Well, what an interesting situation we have here! Writing a review for an independent label that features two producers and a handful of the best MC’s in the game right now? I guess all that’s left is to shut up, listen to the music and tell you my thoughts and so LET’S GET INTO IT! This is the brand new album by -RHL Records which consists of producers -DR. CAST IRON and -RENAISSANCE TONE! They bring with them the likes of -BOOGZ FTB -NYEUSI LOE -??? -BRAVDON -AL DIVINO -ERG ONE -BLUEHILLBILL -SWAELLO -THEMELLOS -JASZOFFICIAL And I want to save those ridiculous names for a bit later and discuss the production side of things. These two men help create the sharp sonic flavours that engulf the audience in heavy, theatrical atmosphere that you won’t be able to ignore! Let’s talk a few of them. Whether you want to start with the intro track. Where we see the utilisation of those sharp violin strings combined with those long and elegant piano keys that combine to create this stripped back, minimal piece of music that feels classic in it’s presentation and boom Bap in execution! We have tracks such as -AIN’T SAFE which has this distorted feel to it in this experimental lane. From those dangerous vibe sharp keys that is associated with those sci fi style bass strings and UFO sounds in the background! This track has this beautifully methodical drum rhythm that I couldn’t get enough of! This whole track feels like an alien abduction, from the tension of the instrumentals to the overall atmosphere! The song -ALL NET has one of the more eerie tracks on the whole record! this sounds like some horror inspired experimental Jazz. You’ve got those distorted Jazz horns that sound like it has a life of its own! Combined with those haunting keys and that dark ambient noise consistent in the background! Plus some thudding drums that have a serial killer sound to them. The perfect track for the two elite MC’s to go off on and massacre the beat! The song -CORNER OF KENNEDY shows a more lighthearted side of the album with this soulful meets Jazz type instrumental with those lively keys that re appear in a 2-3 second loop! It’s combined with some luscious bass strings and stripped back drums! I love the energy of this track, because it matches the two twins who rock this track to the very last second! I love how this album ends with -PERFECT TIMING another haunting sonic visualisation come to life. From those sharp, high pitch piano keys that creep up from behind you to go for the kill! That’s accompanied by some stone cold bass and cold blooded drums to make this song pop! And also for the main man on the track to be trusted to close the track off! Now onto the stardom that is the RAPPERS! You couldn’t ask for a better list. It’s not just the fact that they are on here but the way they’ve been tag teamed? Just look at this shit ??? X BRAVDON on the same track? OVERKILL with ???’s god tier word manipulation over the beat and BRAVDON’S aggressive and in your face demeanour possessing the listeners! ERG ONE X BLUEHILL on the same track? I never thought I’d see that and that song blew me away, the chemistry was outstanding! ERG’s King Pin/Boss mentality with his raw and ruthless lyrical approach combined with Blue’s smooth and elegant penmanship and flow! They make for the Ying and Yang of each other in the best way possible! BOOGZ FTB X BRAVDON X SWAELLO! Talk about a trio for the ages! Hearing all three men deliver their signature styles and verbal characteristics was fantastic to hear! Fluent, charismatic and articulate! Hell there’s BOOGZ FTB X NYEUSI LOE that kicks the whole album off! With BOOGZ! Strong and intricate vocals mixed with NYEUSI’s newly formed experimental, fast paced style they make a rather impressive tag team to start the whole album off! Of course there were solid solo examples! Such as the track -LYNNVASION with the legendary-Al Divino showcasing his notorious splash style all over the track! Setting a strong tone for the rest of the record! And on the final track -PERFECT TIMING we have a man who defined himself as such. A man who I’ve rocked with for over a year now and a man most fitting to close this powerhouse album off with a masterclass of lyricism, flow and passion! Of course speaking of -JASZOFFICIAL! All these men, provide strong efforts to create a replay heavy album that I’m sure everyone will appreciate! Shoutout to the two producers at hand and for the dominant MC’s come to slaughter the show once again!
