Surprise Motherfuckers

From the album title to the process this screams the artists involved. I’ve had my fair share of knowledge by both and an album that was made in only 3 days! Who else but them could pull that off? No one. With that in mind let’s talk about a duo deadlier than The Brothers Of Destruction! Let’s talk about it! This is the brand new surprise album by MC -twogeebs and Producer -Action Figure 973 and the duo brings with them the likes of -Heartbreak Julio -JOHNNYTRA$H -Malcolmsef -GOMMi J -Jazzy Lion Man And across this tape we hear what could be considered the most energetic and frantic verses by twogeebs that we’ve heard in a minute! I’ve heard his music since last year and he’s one of those who are known to stand on business on the mic and we are hearing that passion and dedication 10x fold! I love how he blends in with the various skits so seemingly. Often you hear skits that are just there ‘outside’ the music itself. But here it’s like a tv show character coming out of the snippets to rap your ears off! Across these 33 minutes we hear two geese showcase his most impressive and unhinged traits that has made him stand out to me! He’s the type of rapper that is always speaking HIS truth and being himself. I’ve had plenty of conversations with him and he’s one of the rare ones that is the same in and out of the studio. He’s always carrying that raw verbal intuition that makes each of bars feel heavy, raw and fluent! He’s never one to waste a moment on a track it’s as if he forgets to breathe song to song! And again, how after each track he just blends back in with the various skits! This is a comic come to life! On some Space Jam, Roger Rabbit type shit which is ever so creative and of course original! That’s the thing about two, no two albums of his sounds the same. He’s always trying to bring something new to the table, a new inspiration, influence or sound to the project that we haven’t heard before! Of course the relationship he has with the features is one to point out. Because these are men I’ve also dealt with many times in the past and now they are here to further push the energy of the record and they do that to a tee! If I had to play devils advocate and choose my favourite feature of the list it would have to be ‘HeartBreak Julio’ anything he touches it feels like an Oscar worthy performance and his chemistry with two is spectacular! Of course the other side to this album is Action Figure 973! For some reason I always forget he’s a producer but he’s as proficient as any that has done it before or after him and he shows just why he’s in demand not only for his words but his beats! So many impressive beats such as -Self Interlude 2 I loved this one first of all for it’s dramatic interlude with that classical music that evolves into those sophisticated Jazz Horns that make this track feel like a black and white movie! There’s some haunting piano keys, shrieking chords and thudding drums that make this beat feel like a sadists wet dream! On the track -That’s So Raven we have that badass intro from that 2010 film -The Town as they utilise the ‘Whose care we talking?’ Scene that sets the tone for the track that consists of eerie long winded piano keys combined with those distorted chord progressions that don’t ever break as they loop around the track that is featured with more sickening bass and some methodical drums that provides the dark texture to the overall instrumental! A skeletal yet fantastical track! Or we can discuss the track -Aye That’s My Drink which starts off with twogeebs complaining that someone is taking his drink and as I complimented prior how that snippet blends into the overall track ever so smoothly! As we get to the actual track we hear a more light hearted addition with those plucked bass strings, rhythmic drums beats as well as some piano keys that are tucked ever so subtly in the background! This song also introduces some classical old school vocal harmonies that give an extra layer of depth to the track! I need to re/remind the audience. THIS WAS MADE IN ONLY 3 DAYS. Even God needed 6 days to create the universe. Easily the magnum opus of twogeebs (in my opinion) and a strong return to form on the production by Action) if you sleeping on this then I pray you stay permanently asleep as you don’t deserve consciousness if you don’t fuck with this one!
