The Man Of 1000s Bo’s

Both the main artists on this EP I’ve had the privilege of befriending and studying in the underground. Both have paved their own waves and cultivated a core audience just like me who hang on each new release and now you’re telling me they come together for a project? Nah it’s a wrap. Let’s talk about it! This is the brand new EP by MC Young Reese Dude and Producer Work Scorsese and together they drop this lavish 6 pack with 18 minutes and the likes of -EricTheRed13 -ActionFigure973 -VillaVelli And with just this trio accompanying them they come into what could be possibly the strongest EP of the year! It’s honestly that good. Let’s start with Young Reese. Again he’s a man I’ve been able to learn from and hear evolve in front of my eyes for the last two years now and he seems to only get stronger with each single, album and EP and this could be his best! What makes his performances on this one special is that he’s resonating with the depth of production and the quality of features and really feels one with the music! Fuck it let’s call it, he’s the culture’s WWF Jericho ‘Man With A 1000 B for Bars and O for original’ because he can stun the audience with just 18 minutes of run time put you in 999 verbal strangleholds and then knock you on your back with the 1000th bar! He’ll hit you with the vocabulary lion sault, the penmanship perfectplex! The wordplay wrist lock and the verbal vice grip until your sweating trying to catch every word, phrase, pun, one liner till your dizzy from his complex big swing dizzying enough to make you tap out! Across the time I discovered him just like Jericho he’s showcased his various personas and themes! Some dark heel turns, others uplifting and creative! Sometimes he’s given us a curb ball the equivalent of dressing up as Penta and invading the CMLL wrestling match! Or dropping bombshells on us like challenging the top guys of foreign companies! Regardless Reese is an unpredictable enigma who could hit you with a sonic code breaker, be in the running to win album of the year and record a tongue and cheek zoom dance off all in the same month! He’s just that versatile and this EP shows that side of him the best! Now on the flip side of things we have Work Scorsese who is like the Jim Johnston of the culture! Providing us hip hop fans with the long lasting, life changing soundtracks to our favourite rappers! At this point I’ve lost count with all people I’ve seen him work with but just like Jim when he’s the one making your entrance music, it’s going to be remembered! For example you have tracks like -Reese Malenko which has this absolutely riveting duel vocal loop that I couldn’t get enough of. One of them is just a sensational humming the other is an actual spoken voice snippet and they work together to create this Kanye 2000’s reminiscent track! This track has some gorgeous plucked strings that helps provide some texture to the song! The song -Radicalz makes me feel like a teenager again as the song starts off with the WWE match sounds that blends into that gritty boom bap beat with those distorted chords, delicate piano keys with that light drum pattern! This track also has Young Reese tag in the one and only Eric to help Perform that overkill finisher! There’s even the track -Texas Cloverleaf which has an ambient/jazz fusion to it that I absolutely adored! You’ve got those sharp Jazz horns combined with those hypnotic drums and mesmerising keyboard keys and bass! This one is rather minimal but it has a heavy atmosphere to it! This is also the track with ActionFigure himself that comes in like El Hijo De Dr. Wagner Jr a heavyweight motherfucker in a Lucha mask coming to fuck your shit up and look marvellous doing it! All in all, as expected this was a Dave meltzer 5 star sonic match! You had the notorious MC and Producer coming together for a once in a lifetime tag team alongside three of the heavyweight fighters in the culture and together they showed the world why ‘THEY JUST MADE THE LIST!!’
