Nothing like a good Thursday morning switch up. Something different to balance the amount of hip hop I consume and cover on a daily basis. This is a great palette cleanser of a track that helps me appreciate the variety of music in the world today! So let’s talk about it! This is the brand new single by Producer, Singer, Electric Guitar Player, Synthesiser, Beat Maker -Sammy Veins and this track is 2 minutes and 25 of the lavish, high energy, atmospheric music that makes you feel like your in a fever dream! Let’s discuss why! So first of all, the instrumentation and vibe off this track is off the walls! Sounds like a mix between, Tame Imapala, T-Pain and Daft Punk! You’ve got those synth/auto tune style vocals that stays combined with that layered track featuring those lively/methodically charged drum patterns, those echoing and delicate piano keys, those subtly yet gorgeous guitar strings that come in two different forms! With the electric it’s in your face and unavoidable the other takes a more backseat role for a soothing effect! In fact I love how this track starts off with the combination of those plucked keys and distance electric guitar both working in perfect chemistry! I’d say the actual vocals takes a more secondary role to the music itself. Can’t say this type of singing execution is my favourite but in this situation it’s used to further enhance the insane performances of the instrumentation more then it is meant to be solid as stand alone! Exactly the same as Daft Punk, no one would call them ‘Top 10 singers in history’ material but what they do amplifies the groovy and infectious tunes and that’s what Sammy has done on this track also! Can’t say I was expecting this but now that I’ve heard it, embraced it and soaked it all in this is definitely a song I feel everyone should try at least once!
