With all the names this man has gone through in his album run it would only be a matter of time before these two titans came together! Two men who have adapted their own unique sounds that is undeniable in the culture! To hear them working together? Is the same as overkill. So why wait? Let’s talk! This is the brand new album by Producer -DeevoDaGenius and Feed The Family member -Dun Dealy and this duo drops this 13 track, 30 minute experience with familiar names as -BeenOfficialLord -Flames Dot Malik -BoriRock -Daniel Son -BlueHillBill -TEGA And man, what a ridiculous feature film of names! This one is gonna be generational. When you really step back and analyse each Feed member individually it’s clear that Dun is one of the more charismatic characters in the collective! His quirky mannerisms on the mic combined with his ‘zing’ focused street poetry and sharp lyricism that makes each verse feel like a unique experience. That’s why I love hearing him alongside Bori specifically! I feel they both share the same energy and chemistry that they can’t miss when working together! But don’t let his immense aura take away from his obvious talent in bar timing, the way he makes sure each sentence is synced with the beat! The way he makes sure his flow is the perfect blend of splash and traditional! He somehow sounds both laidback and focused! (If that’s even possible) It was definitely an interesting experience to hear the song -PAW PAINT to hear Dun’s chill, nonchalant, charismatic vibe work alongside Flame’s angry, in your face approach on the mic! It felt like Ice and Fire on the same track! Like Aokiji and Akainu on the same side type shit! Truly magical! I also love how the concept of this record used a phone vibration as the consistent sound throughout the entire album. Representing the customers calling. Such a small detail can add all the difference in immersion! Not to mention those various news reports about drug epidemics! Again adding some extra texture to the album! Dun has always had ‘main character’ syndrome when he’s on the mic. Meaning no matter if he’s just a feature or doing his own thing he always has a way of making the world stop for him! That’s why I love hearing verses from him because of this ability he has! Who else could you trust to make said soundtrack for the main character? Deevo of course! The theme creator of all your favourite rappers in the last two years. From Bluehill and Kil The Artist to everyone else! He’s made his way through the culture making gems with the whole game and with this new one he’s once again showing why he’s such a sought after man behind the beats! There’s so many tracks we can discuss from -SOUL TRAIN which has this beautiful orchestra sound to it with those violin strings in that classical patterns as if he has a whole band behind him recording live! There’s also some thick bass strings and some stripped back drums to add to the atmosphere texture! Absolutely loved this one! The song -ZING EMOTIONLESS has to have one of the wildest beats on the whole projects! Hear me out. This sounds like an evil swarm of bees growing ever closer to you to sting you to death! Talk about ZINGERS! It has this sinister violin loop, some haunting distorted piano keys, what sounds like some echoed choir vocals and some truly sickening bass! This one definitely feels EMOTIONLESS in structure! What about the track -TUCI SAMPLE this was maybe the most smooth! It has this combination of classical and soul fusion! You’ve got those soulful vocal loops that take a balanced tone across the track! That’s combined with those theatrical strings combined with those funky plucked bass strings and some light drums to make a song that sounds like a montage to an 80’s thriller movie vibe! Also, Dun, BlueHill and Daniel Son on the same track? Overkill much! Look, If you’ve been a fan of both Deevo and Feed The Family then you’ll love this! If you’re new to both those things then I guarantee you’ll still love it! So don’t go sleeping on this one and accept the call when you hear the ZINGTONES!
